What Rewards are Available to Workers in Your Organization Case Study

What rewards are available to workers in your organization? When are they used? Are they effective? What alternatives would you use if you could change the reward system? There is no doubt that working in a nonprofit organization differs greatly from for-profit organizations. Obviously, a crucial difference can also be seen in the way both types of companies motivate their workers and reward them.   I would like to dwell upon the system of rewards in my organization and also to make some suggestions for its improvement. It is a common knowledge that a lot of business leaders consider money and all kinds of financial benefits to be driving force to make the job more worth-while. Nevertheless, it has already been proved that this type of motivation works only for simple straight forward tasks, mostly where mechanical skills are involved. On the contrary, if work demands creative thinking or any other cognitive ability, money will not work as a motivation or reward in this case. I strongly believe that there are a lot of rewards that help effectively encourage employees to work harder and be interested in the result of their efforts in my organization. First of all, our company appreciates employees’ really worthwhile actions. Accordingly, when someone does such a thing, all the colleagues around literally give her/him a standing ovation. To my mind, this gesture of appreciation helps to ensure worker’s good will. Furthermore, there is a Wall of Fame in the hall. Every month the photos of the best workers are put on the Wall along with publishing their successes under the photo. This helps to appreciate the results of hard job. Moreover, our boss tries to make our working place fun and comfortable: we have ‘Fun meetings’ weekly where everyone should tell 3 best jokes of the week. This creates a perfect friendly atmosphere where everyone smiles. Additionally, what I consider to be the best reward ever, we are allowed to develop our own projects based on our own ideas and then present them to top-management. Every half a year the best project is chosen and the organization invest money in its development. Thus, workers are able to be self-directed and independent. What is more, each month the best employees are given additional days-off for having rest. All in all, I am completely satisfied with the reward system of my organization. I personally get pleasure working for it and this is the best reward for me. The only thing I would like to suggest about reward system’s improvement would be that free trainings should be implemented where all the achievements and contributions of each worker could be singled out and, besides, each employee could challenge and better his/her mastery.

The story of Victor Frankenstein is told within a frame narration, as in The Ancient Mariner in which an anonymous third-person narrator rec ounts how an old sailor comes to tell a young wedding guest the story of his adventures at the sea. When we refer to a frame narration, we are telling that is a narrative that recounts the telling of another narrative or story that thus â€Å"frames† the inner or framed narrative. So in Frankenstein, Walton’s letters shape a frame around the main narrative and Victor Frankenstein’s story, while in The Ancient Mariner, the story told about the mariner represents a frame around the mariner own story. The novel Frankenstein is written in the first person point of view, but at different points in the book, different storytellers recount the tale. Therefore, it can be found three different narrators, being Robert Walton the first narrator, who in his letters cites, second narrator, Victor Frankenstein’s narration; Victor, at the same time, cites the third narrator’s story. Furthermore, Elizabeth Lavenza and Alphonse Frankenstein narrate parts of the sto ry through their letters to Victor as well, but they are not as relevant narrators as the other characters. Compare Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine and Thomas free essay sample

Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson based on our readings and discussions in class. They all also had a knack for getting people to follow them. Benjamin Franklin, who had only died about 30 years before William Culled Bryant wrote To Cole, the Painter, Departing for Europe, seemed to express different views about America vs.. Europe in his letters.In a letter Franklin wrote to his grandson, he expressed how he wanted to return to America before his death but didnt think he would be able to. He seemed so passionate when writing about America. It was as if there was nothing better than America. We also know that Franklin was very Involved In politics and economics. He Is one of the first people we read about who was very concerned with money and how It affected status and politics. Just by writing this, he has already captivated the reader and forced them to see his views and Just common sense. Paine seemed to specialize in revolts and working for the ordinary person. This was Pains involvement in politics; getting the common person to see how they were oppressed and how things should change. He took action by forming revolutions. Paine felt that America should be free from British control.He stated, We have boasted the protection of Great Britain without considering that her motive was interest, not attachment; and that she did not protect us from our enemies on our account, but from her enemies on her own account, from those who had no quarrel with us on any other account, and who will always be our enemies on the same us because of their own personal reasons and when we were under attack, Britain didnt care and sequentially, they had created enemies for both places. Thomas Jefferson took part in politics as well as Franklin and Paine and was the principal author of the Declaration of Independence.Jefferson, unlike Franklin and Paine, was born into his wealth. He was never a commoner and therefore never knew what it was like to be in that position. I find it interesting that someone of his stature would be allowed to help write the Declaration of Independence which helps guide everyone including commoners. He couldnt possibly understand what would be best for them. This is probably why there are many things in the constitution that dont seem fair to an ordinary person, such as the Electoral College. This system was basically created because a regular person could not have a vote left in their hands.Although Jefferson seems like he wants independence for America, it also seems like he doesnt trust America to have this Independence. All three people that I have discussed seem to differ in their views of America vs. . Europe from Bryant. Bryant seems to be thrilled that America is based on Europe. Places such as New York and New England were almost exact replicas of the originals. Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, and Thomas Jefferson were trying to change the way America was to make it a better place to live. It is because of these men that America is everything it is today.
